Project Entropy is a science-fiction strategy MMO from FunPlus where you take command of an alien civilization, build a base, assemble Hero ship fleets and compete for galactic supremacy across expansive maps full of resources, rivals and secrets. It blends base building, grand strategy and simulation with both PvP and PvE, wrapped in an epic storyline of intrigue, betrayal and discovery, while seasonal updates keep adding new planets and challenges. Like most 4X strategy MMOs, it rewards commanders who grow patiently and lean on their alliance far more than those who simply spend. This guide is for new players on Windows who want a stable, efficient start. Play Project Entropy free on PC and expand the smart way.
Getting started
- Your headquarters gates everything. Most buildings, unit tiers and upgrades are tied to your main base level, so grow it steadily while keeping your economy and defenses in step.
- Gather and manage resources. Harvest the galaxy's resource nodes to fund construction, research and fleet upgrades, and keep a premium currency reserve for high-value purchases.
- Follow the campaign and tutorial chain. Early missions walk you through base growth and hand out generous starter rewards, Hero fragments and resources.
- Scout before you expand. The galaxy map holds diverse territories and rival players, so learn your neighborhood before pushing out.
- Settle near your alliance. Relocating your base close to friendly commanders means faster reinforcement, safer mining and shared territory bonuses right from the start.
Building your first Hero fleets
Combat in Project Entropy revolves around Hero ships with special powers, plus customizable mechs and weapons, so your fleet is your real strength.
- Focus one strong fleet first. A single well-upgraded Hero fleet outperforms several half-built ones, so concentrate your resources.
- Upgrade mechs and weapons deliberately. Customization lets you tune a fleet for offense, defense or resource raids; pick a role and commit.
- Match fleets to the task. Use dedicated setups for gathering, PvE hostiles and PvP rather than one generic fleet for everything.
- Chase Hero fragments from missions and events to level your best commanders faster.
- Research combat and economy upgrades in parallel. Fleet power comes as much from your research tree and base tech as from the ships themselves, so keep both progressing.
Progression and free-to-play tips
- Join an active alliance immediately. Shared bonuses, help, and coordinated defense are the single biggest free power boost in the game.
- Do not over-expand. Grabbing too much territory too fast paints a target on your base before your fleets can defend it.
- Keep a protective shield up when you are offline or holding a large resource stockpile.
- Save premium currency for builder or research boosts and key Hero pulls, not impulse buys.
- Play the seasons and events. Much of your free progression comes from hitting event milestones, so time your upgrades to match them.
Mistakes to avoid
- Rushing your headquarters. A high base level with weak fleets and thin research makes you easy prey. Grow evenly.
- Leaving resources and base unshielded. Unprotected stockpiles invite raids; shield up and spend surplus before logging off.
- Spreading upgrades across too many fleets. A focused fleet wins fights that a scattered roster loses.
- Playing solo. Skipping your alliance throws away help, protection and shared rewards.
- Wasting premium currency early. Hold it until you understand which boosts and Heroes matter for your playstyle.
Grow your base in balance with fleets and research, build one strong Hero fleet at a time, and lean on an active alliance, and you will carve out a commanding position in the galaxy. Set your course, command your civilization, and start your conquest today.
